Conferenza a Firenze su Ernst Jünger e il dolore

Vi invitiamo a partecipare sabato 28 novembre alle ore 17 presso le Scuole Pie Fiorentine, Via Lamarmora 35 all'ultima conferenza del ciclo di conferenze su: Il mistero dell'esistenza nella letteratura europea del '900 in cui si parlerà di:

"ERNST JÜNGER: IL DOLORE E IL MISTERO DELL'ESISTENZA"

Ospite della serata sarà Giampiero Moretti, ordinario di Estetica presso l'Università degli Studi di Napoli - Orientale. Studioso del romanticismo tedesco e di Heidegger. Nel corso della conferenza si prenderà in esame lo scritto di Jünger intitolato "Sul dolore" e si cercherà di interrogarsi sul rapporto tra "dolore" e "mistero dell'esistenza".

Set in 1916 in the days before the Somme offensive, Ernst Jünger's Sturm provides a vivid portrait of the front-line experiences of four German infantry officers and their company. A highly cultivated man and an acute observer of his era, the eponymous Lieutenant Sturm entertains his friends during lulls in the action with readings from his literary sketches. The text's forays into philosophical and social commentary address many of the themes of Jünger's early work, such as the nature of war, death, heroism, the phenomenon of Rausch, and mass society. 

Originally published in installments in the Hannoverscher Kurier in 1923, Sturm fell into obscurity until 1960, when it was re-discovered and subsequently re-published by Hans Peter des Coudres, a scholar of Jünger's work.

EUMESWIL again available! From Sept 1, 2015

Telos Press has just announced their newest Ernst Jünger publication: a republication of Eumeswil in the superb original Neugroschel translation!!

This is, in my opinion, their most important contribution yet to the dissemination of an author so under- and misread in the Anglo-Saxon world. For years now the original Marsilio publication (Eridanos Library, 1993) has been unavailable, or at least unavailable at normal prices, since single copies occasionally appeared on Amazon for $300 or more. Apparently there is demand, which underlines the importance of Telos making this "bible" of mature Jüngerian thought available to the normal reader at only $26.95.

But most importantly, this new Eumeswil makes the author's critical concept of the anarch again accessible for study and discussion through the life and reflections of its protagonist and proto-anarch, Martin Venator.

Nuova antologia in italiano su Ernst Jünger

Una nuova antologia su Ernst Jünger è appena uscita - curato da Luigi Iannone (relatore nel ciclo conferenze 2012 dell'Associazione Eumeswil sul tema La grande paura).

Questo libro è una novità nel panorama editoriale italiano. Innanzitutto perché vi collaborano ben trenta autori tra esperti, docenti e ricercatori universitari impegnati in varie discipline (Germanistica, Filosofia, Storia delle dottrine politiche, Diritto, Psicologia, Economia, eccetera).

E poi perché, in genere, i lavori collettanei si concentrano su un unico argomento,oppure, al contrario, diventano un insieme confuso di saggi che non vanno oltre la cifra agiografica o celebrativa mentre, nel caso specifico, l’intento è quello di offrire una prospettiva analitica sull’intera opera di Ernst Jünger.
